RIVIERE The charm of our private beach

Nestled in a wide meander of the Ardèche, our riverside stretches out like an invitation to gentle living. The vast, generous grassy beach becomes a haven for relaxing, dreaming, or simply breathing. Between bucolic spots and small rapids whispering over the pebbles, nature shapes a delicate playground where one can enjoy both adventure and relaxation. Away from the canoe “highway” of the lower Ardèche, this preserved haven reveals all the unique charm of our campsite.

Just steps from your campsite or comfortable accommodation, the Ardèche River flows peacefully, offering nearly 500 meters of beach for playing, swimming, and relaxing. Our little corner of paradise is unspoiled; you'll feel privileged and enjoy moments of pure bliss, with your feet in the water, a smile on your face, and wet hair. Our Ardèche River is the perfect place to experience simple moments, whenever you feel like it.

Dynamic stays Our open water experiences

Direct access to the river makes La Chapoulière an ideal location to fully enjoy all the leisure activities available on the Ardèche. The river is a dream playground for children of all ages. They can swim, have fun on inner tubes and paddleboards or canoes (available for free loan at the campsite), and simply enjoy themselves. Why not explore the other side of the Ardèche by crossing the waterway: a truly privileged feeling of boundless territory!

A real natural playground, better than a water park: will you be able to try the experience of going down the rapids on an inner tube?

Also take advantage of the boat launch by the beach for a 17km descent - book directly at the campsite!

If you prefer a more solitary activity, walk along the banks to find a quiet spot, and get out your fishing rod!

DOGS The river, a shared space… dogs welcome

At La Chapoulière, the river is also a place of freedom for dogs. They are welcome on the beach and along the riverbanks, where they can cool off, rest in the shade, or accompany their owners along the water’s edge. Some quieter areas allow everyone to settle in peacefully, away from the livelier spots.

For the comfort and safety of all, dogs must be kept on a leash when moving around the campsite. Once by the river, everyone can enjoy the water with respect for others and for the surrounding nature — a simple and friendly coexistence, true to the spirit of La Chapoulière.

The Ardèche River, a place for fishing and patience Fishing

The Ardèche River is also a favorite spot for fishing enthusiasts, whether beginners or experienced anglers. From the grassy beach or the quieter riverbanks of the campsite, people settle in early in the morning or at the end of the day, when the water is calmer and the light softer.

Here, fishing is a moment apart: watching the current, choosing a spot, waiting. Often shared between generations, it encourages transmission, exchange, and the simple pleasure of being by the water, in harmony with the living nature of La Chapoulière.
