A family story

La Chapoulière is above all the story of an Ardèche family deeply attached to their land and its values.

 It all began in 1973, when Fernand and Gabrielle Tourre founded the campsite, driven by the desire to share their corner of nature and welcome holidaymakers as if they were friends.

A few years later, their son Gérard, along with his wife, took over and continued to develop the place with the same passion.

 In 2014, it was Hubert, the founders' grandson, who carried on the adventure.

Today, he is giving the campsite a new lease of life, while remaining true to its original spirit: simplicity, conviviality, and respect for nature. The next generation is also already preparing: Hugo and Aubin, Hubert's two children, spend their summers marveling at campsite life. Games, discoveries, encounters… They readily imagine continuing the family tradition one day, when they are older.

Family comes first From generation to generation

At La Chapoulière, family is part of the very DNA of the place.

Generations follow one another, both in our history and among the campers who have been returning since childhood and now with their own children and grandchildren.

Here, we greet each other, we chat, we simply share.

The welcome is natural: newcomers quickly find their place.

It is this sincere and family atmosphere that we want to preserve.

Behind the campsite's atmosphere, there's above all a team that lives and breathes La Chapoulière.

Over the years, certain people have become true touchstones for the campers: Jeanne, Pauline, Rody, Thierry, and Mathias.

They're there every season—sometimes all year round—and many vacationers already know them by name. Their presence brings continuity and a sense of familiarity, almost as if the family grows a little bigger each summer.

Around them, the seasonal workers join the adventure with the same simplicity and the same smile.

They are chosen for their interpersonal skills, their desire to help, and their commitment to making your stay enjoyable. Each member of the team supports the Tourre family on a daily basis, with a shared desire to offer a genuine, warm, and personal welcome. We will communicate with you in French, English, Dutch, and German.
